Breakdown Information:

Friendbot - Modeled, textured, scripted, recorded, lit, composited, edited, this effects short was a great trial in ‘looking at the full picture’. From concept to editing it down, this was a test of what I can put together by myself. The short itself is seven shots following a clueless, unhelpful robot and her new (and unfortunate) owner. I wanted to create something that was a container to show off my lighting/compositing ability, but was also entertaining.

Chess - Chess is using an HDR panorama shot on location for scene lighting. For the shadow, I took a tonemapped version of the plate and lumakeyed detail back in the shadow.  I’m really happy with the result, although a lot of people tell me this is not a valid chess move. Oops!

Pong - This was an extremely fun project with match lighting. Match a simple object in a photograph with a CG one. The shadow and the specular highlight were a challenge but turned out nicely, although I prefer motion CG. I plan to redo this in motion, and at HD resolution. Should be fun!

Nodebased.net Cups - This project takes various passes of reflections together at once. As you can see with the plate, I painted part of the plate over and used the reflection as a mask to reveal part of it to more accurately represent how a reflection on that surface passes over it.
